Frequently Asked Questions FAQ

Why do I need to register to hear the beats?

I only offer exclusive beats and protecting them matters to me. Registering with your social media account takes less than a minute and keeps bots and scrapers out. It also starts our conversation. I want to know who's listening before we talk about working together.

What types of beats do you offer?

I make melodic beats across Rap, Hip-Hop, Melodic Trap, Alt RnB, and RnB. Browse by mood or genre category to find what fits your project.

How do I purchase a beat license?

Start by reaching out. I only do exclusives and every situation is different, so I want to understand your project and budget before we talk price. Payment is processed through a PayPal invoice once we've agreed on terms.

How much do you charge for a beat?

Truth is, it depends. Working with a budget has never been an issue for me. I'll work with you and you'll be pleased. You can read more about my thoughts on this here.

Are you open to being a ghost producer?

Yes, but understand that ghost producing is essentially work-for-hire. You're asking me to give up my rights to the music, so compensation adjusts accordingly. Reach out and we can discuss what that looks like for your project.

Are these really exclusive beats? Do you sell them as non-exclusive first?

These are legit exclusive beats. Selling a beat as a non-exclusive and then turning around and selling the same one as an exclusive is lame. I don't do that. Exclusive means it’s only ever yours as an artist—the first and last to use it to create a song.

Do you do custom arrangements?

Yes. I put a beat together based on what I'm hearing. My experience has been though that artists may do something different, based on what they hear. To solve this, I offer free custom arrangements. I'll re-arrange the beat to fit your vision. Since I make the beat from scratch, it isn't a big deal for me to change it up. I can even change out an element or two (within reason) adjust the key, or alter the tempo. Just contact me to discuss what you are thinking.

Why aren't your beats on BeatStars or Airbit?

Because exclusive means exclusive.

Do you work with Christian artists only?

No. I work with artists whose music points to Truth. What I won't co-sign is ungodly content, music that promotes blasphemy or immorality. The artist's faith isn't the deciding factor. The content is. Read More Than Beats if you want to understand where I'm coming from on this.

What rights do I get with an exclusive license?

With an exclusive license, you get the right to use the beat for your own song. You can record your song, release it, and perform it everywhere. No other artist can legally use the beat.

How do we handle royalties?

We split the royalties right down the middle for a song. That means we both get an equal share of the earnings from things like sales and streams. Of course this is negotiable.

Are the license terms negotiable?

Yes. I believe the terms of the license are fair for both parties, designed to respect and protect the interests of everyone involved. However, I understand that every project has unique needs, so I encourage you or your legal counsel to review the agreement and feel free to suggest any changes. I'm quite flexible and open to discussing adjustments to make sure the license meets your specific requirements. Just reach out and let’s make it work.

What's does a buy-out of an exclusive beat look like?

Since I only offer exclusive licenses and do not rely on volume sales of non-exclusive beats, my main compensation if a song is successful comes from royalties. However, if you're interested in a buy-out to own the beat outright (essentially a "work for hire") and not owe any future royalties, we can discuss it. The terms of a buy-out would be based on the potential future earnings of the beat and what it's worth economically to both of us. I'm open to negotiating a fair buy-out that aligns with your needs and the value of the music.

What if there's a disagreement or the royalties?

Basically if there's ever a need to check the books to make sure everything’s on track with what’s been agreed, I have the right to do that. It's just to ensure both of us are getting our fair share according to our agreement.

What file formats will I receive with my beat?

You will receive the beat in a zip file containing 24-bit STEM files in WAV format for professional audio mixing. Also in the zip is a 24-bit mixed WAV file, along with a mastered high-quality MP3 or WAV file. If you need other formats (like AIFF), just let me know. That won't cost you anything.

What if I can't download the beat?

If you have difficulties downloading the beat, I can provide you with a flash drive with all the session files (free of charge)
